This book should be titled "Sailing for the Rich". The author has a budget for the boat of between $500,000 and $750,000 and monthly expense budget of $6,000. This is way more than most cruisers spend and not practical for the majority of people interested in sailing away. The answer to almost every problem is buy another one. There is some information on sailing with children but if you are not sailing with children you won't much of this material interesting. I also found very little in the way of practical sailing information in this book. I thought the book was well written the subject matter was not for me and I love to read sailing books. If you like sailing, you should read this book. I you like to be motivated and inspired,you should read this book. If you are a student of leadership and want to learn more, you should read this book. I read this book in 5 days and hardly ever put it down. The author and his family went on an adventure most of us only dream about and this book describes all of the amazing planning, challenges, locations visited, cultures experienced and sailing techniques and on and on. The best part is how he and his wife interacted with their kids and helped them grow and learn. Young parents should also read this book to learn a truly powerful way to raise your kids.
